MY EXPERIENCE...Cameraman/Director/Photographer. I am by profession a Breaking News/LIVE shot Cameraman.

For the majority of my assignments I've operated the camera, set-up the lighting and audio. I am also an excellent coach with new talent to help them get their best look on camera.

I work freelance with Associated Press (APTN) Washington DC to cover and field produce breaking news stories and events in Southern California.

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE NEWS BUSINESS:

I currently have News Media Credentials issued by the Superior Court of Santa Barbara,
Orange County Sheriffs Department. I was also issued credentials by the Chicago Police Department, Illinois State Police, Department of Defense and the White House Secret Service.

I worked in the Midwest as a news cameraman for over 20 years in a staff position for CBS and was assigned to work in Chicago and Washington DC. I was the youngest person ever hired by CBS NEWS in 1979 after covering the DC-10 crash at O'hare airport. I was first cameraman on the scene and stood next to the burning landing gear and rolled my first hard news video as a freelancer. I was hired by CBS NEWS that day. I was later offered a full-time staff position...

I was assigned to cover Presidential Campaigns, the State Department, the White House and other History Making Events. I then worked for CBS in Chicago at the O and O station as a Breaking News Photographer/LIVE MINICAM operator as well as a Photojournalist shooting Feature Stories, Investigative and Special Project assignments. I've been assigned to cover over 15,000 news stories and did over 10,000 LIVE Shots in my career, worked with over 150 different Reporters/Anchors and have shot hundreds of interviews of Famous people & VIP'S. I also created the first ENG Safety Manual in the Industry for LIVE truck operators and donated the material to IBEW 1220 in Chicago.

In addition to production assignments, I am currently working as a Photographer and as a freelance news cameraman. My occupation requires me to travel to San Diego, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and LA as well as other areas outside California.
